Free Software Distribution Gets Praise from User Base

In two separate award ceremonies last week, Debian GNU/Linux received praise from its user base for its award-winning distribution.

Readers of the popular Slashdot.org website voted the Free Software distribution the "Most Deserving of a $2000 award". It was credited with being a top distribution and for upholding the Free Software ideals that Linux is based upon. The award was accepted on Debian's behalf by Sean Perry, Joey Hess, and David Coe. Debian GNU/Linux also received the GeekCast.Com network's "The Linux Show" Editor's and Listener's Award for "Best Linux Distribution of the Last Millennium".
